It’s the place I learnt my DJ craft, the party I learnt to call family, the venue that soon became my home, the disco that gave me friends for life. It is Sunday Sundae and it’s been my queer mothership for nearly two decades now. A space where we can be ourselves, our glorious dancing, glittering, smiling, Speedo-clad selves. (Okay, maybe not the last one. I’m more your Dry Robe kinda queer). It is the club night that brought legends into my lifetime, the DJs who influenced me and helped make me the disco-loving remember-to-smile house head DJ that I am. It is the dancefloor community I am forever proud to be a part of and it is the sexy AF hedonistic joy that will keep your head spinning and your butt shaking till the early hours. I can’t wait to do it all again this August as we reunite once again under my city’s campest disco ball for a Brighton Pride weekend closing party like no other. See you at the front. I’ll be the one grinning from ear to ear shaking my not-Speedo-clad 54-year-old hips (vegan omega 3 supplements permitting!).
