Brighton Pride Village Party love

No matter how many times we get to play for our hometown Pride, the goosebumps never leave. A combination of fear and pride and WTF fuels us as we stand by to dip into the queer disco light fantastic. Bricking it, loving it, wishing it was every day, glad it isn’t. The mix of emotions as we stand on one of Brighton & Hove Pride – Official Page biggest stages for a hour of disco bliss is heady and wonderful. Made only complete by you, the souls who have danced with us since our deck adventures began over 30 years ago. Thank you for the grins. The humour, the sign reading, the support, the dancing. For getting that Pride is a protest, soundtracked by the disco us two queer dears are honoured to play. Thank you to Paul Kemp and Dulcie Weaver and the Pride team for the belief. Always. Thank you Patterns and Charles Street Tap for the love and never-ending support. And all the DJ love to Toby Lawrence Mimi, DILF’s Ross Jones, Sami Capaldi and Tinks for the perfect Sunday tunes. And thank you dear dancing ones for allowing these two elder disco queers to do our thing on the streets we love with the tunes we adore. That last tune was for you – every one of you who has stood by us, danced with us, believed in us, listened to and loved us. That was some moment. That was for you.

Love to the footage darlings Sami Capaldi, Shona Tough and Matty Duckett who remembered to ensure we strike a pose. And love to the darling in the I Heart NY tee. Your smile made our Sunday.
