Sound Affects #36: Verb T, Wildblood & Queenie & more TBC

Sound Affects is a night of talks about music and subcultures, how sound affects us and how music changes the world. Hearing from writers, musicians, artists, superfans, photographers, filmmakers and everyday music lovers, we dive into personal stories, esoteric bands, fan communities, punk, pop, social change and much more. It’s organised and hosted by journalist and documentary filmmaker Jak Hutchcraft.

Guest speakers:
Wildblood & Queenie – Celebrating three decades as a DJ duo, Wildblood and Queenie forever take pleasure in playing the finest disco and disco-infused house grooves on the dancefloors of club nights and on their 1BTN Radio Show (every 2nd & 4th Friday 13:00-16:00 101.4FM DAB+). They’re residents at Patterns in Brighton, have played Brighton Pride and Love Supreme, as well as their own club nights, Shameless Hussies, and Housewives’ Choice. Kate works with Queer Heritage South as a lesbian community champion, archiving queer stories from Brighton’s past.

Verb T – After three decades of musical escapades as both a solo hip hop artist and 1/4 of The Four Owls, Verb T has just released his ambitious offering to date in the shape of ‘To Love A Phantom’. In it he explores his love for the language of cinema, and blurs the everyday with the supernatural. A deeply emotive, visceral and visual listen, which features a supporting cast of artists from across the UK underground. Verb T will be talking to us about ‘To Love A Phantom’, his craft and his creative process.
