1BTN IWD2026 Takeover

It takes a community to make a community. Sound souls celebrating the soundest of days for the soundest of reasons. Celebrating International Women’s Day together, campaigning for true equality and fundraising for Rise Brighton and our beloved 1BTN.

Since that first broadcast 8 years ago, the IWD 1BTN Takeover has grown from a day with 8 passionate and determined souls to 50 presenters delivering 50 hours of fearless and fabulous broadcasting, celebrating the female, trans women, and non-binary voices at the heart of our radio community.

From Friday 6th March, from 10pm, we will be live in the studio until Saturday midday, when the action heads to The Fortune of War, where we will be broadcasting until 8pm, bringing the energy straight from Brighton beach to your airwaves with an incredible lineup of DJs and artists. From 8pm till 11pm, we head home to OnAir, Brighton’s hifi hangout listening bar for a vinyl-only DJ session, and then we return to the 1BTN studio as we head into Sunday for the final 25 hours of our IWD 1BTN Takeover.
