Wildblood and Queenie. Two queer disco dears who love the filth of a decent bass line and the uplift of disco-infused groove. Always fuelled by the divas and forever in love with the cowbell, Wildblood and Queenie are a Brighton DJ duo with a passion for the sassy side of disco and house music, its queer roots and glitter-fuelled magnificence. Meeting thanks to Kate’s club night Shameless Hussies back in 1993, Wildblood and Queenie have become a partnership that campaigns, creates, DJ and giggles together, as they bring their love and ND reality to the club scene, ensuring the joy they create on their 1BTN radio show runs through every bpm they share on the dancefloors. With Wildblood and Queenie on the decks, the jump will always be had. With Wildblood and Queenie, the disco joy is forever included.

The Wildblood and Queenie Show on 1BTN 1st & 3rd Friday 13:00-16:00 101.4FM DAB+ 1btn.fm

Origins DJ residency at Patterns, 10 Marine Parade, Brighton

Wildblood and Queenie forever take pleasure in playing the finest disco and disco-infused house grooves on the dancefloors of club nights, radio and events including Patterns, Brighton Pride, Love Is The Message, Love Supreme, Body Movements, He.She.They., La Discoteque, Club Love, Dykes On Decks, Sunday Sundae, 1BTN radio, BBC 6 Music, Wild Fruit, Fruit Underground, Horse Meat Disco, Bitch,Please!, Risen, Coco Club, Camp Bliss, Risen festival, Pussycat Club, Traumfrau, Vintage Festival, We Are Love, Block, Wild Family, Alfresco Festival, Club Shame Reunion, The Chill Out Tent, Zap Club, Sunday Almanac, Stompaphunk, The Tempest, Egg London, Queer Nation, and their own legendary nights Shameless Hussies and Housewife’s Choice. Forever happy behind the decks since 1993, Wildblood and Queenie are privileged to share with you the love and laughter a lifetime together down the discotheque brings.

Wildblood and Queenie could talk about the things they’ve done, the gigs they’ve played, the songs Josephine’s sung, the words Kate’s written, the exhibitions they’ve curated, the panels they’ve been part of, the LGBTQI+ history they help archive and curate, the club nights they’ve created, the Secret Disco and Private party compilations they’ve released, the infamous shoulders they’ve leant against as they’ve played behind the decks, or even the dog show Queenie judged with Barbra Windsor back in the 80s, but the disco isn’t the place for that. It’s about the music and the connection made with you, dear clubber, our dear listener. The socials tell the tales, the 1BTN radio show brings the grins, the LGBTQ+ history work with Queer in Brighton, the memories, the gigs, the love. Be it with feel-good tunes, classic cuts, deep digs through the disco underground, or moments of regal banter and married life on the airwaves, Wildblood and Queenie’s time with you on the dancefloor or through their 1BTN radio show is the best therapy anyone could ever afford. More uplifting than a Ms Mary of Sweden, queerer than Quentin on a bender and more loved up than on Shoom’s dancefloor back in the day, Wildblood and Queenie are always proud to fly their glittering disco flag for you.

Wildblood and Queenie. Trust in the disco, trust in the queer dears.

As queer DJs, we have a DIVERSITY RIDER. Does your line-up represent the diversity of your dancefloor? If not, let’s work together to make it so.

Wildblood and Queenie: Let the pleasure we have together become yours (with us) down the disco.
