Join 1BTN this February as we say farewell to Dry January with some sweet music supplied by a sizzlingly hot DJ line-up all for a very sound cause at Brighton’s Rialto Theatre on Saturday the 2nd.
To quote the disco powers that be at 1BTN “It’s the dawn of a new day and the beginning of another year in the life of us humans. 2019 is here and we are straight ‘In like Flynn’ with a huge and kick ass 12 months of parties in front of us. Kicking off our exciting run of events is a joint venture and with a line up that will shake you from your January slumber and catapult you headlong into party season”.
“The Big Hawaii! An all night 1BTN fundraiser come 3-way bday party celebration featuring some of our favourite DJ’s and selectors over two floors! The Big Hawaii, so called because it is the 50th year since the birth of 1BTN radio partner, Chris Galloway (Woodenhorse Provocateur / Soft Rocks), who decided to throw a joint bash, along with fellow bday Aquarians in the form of our sizzling Soul Sista, Jayne Winstanley and Mrs 1BTN, Sharon Smillie Jukes“.
“The fundraising part of this event is to aid an exciting expansion plan to continue the growth of this wonderful and ever evolving project that we call, 1BTN. We are looking to expand the studios and launch a dedicated local community service – 1BTN+ (for e.g) – which will concentrate solely on the local community and it’s immediate surrounds. Over the few years we have been broadcasting we have always worked closely with a number of local community groups and charities, involving the organisations directly within the 1BTN programme in addition to raising much needed funds for the cause. We feel that the time is right to expand the operation and give the community side of our interests it’s own dedicated studio and service, which will allow 1BTN to be an upfront go-to 24 7 underground music station in it’s own right”.
