One that’s had me hooked since I first dug deep into disco’s glittering underbelly (thanks it must be said to the boys of Horse Meat Disco), Fern Kinney’s Groove Me is an epic lesson in the joy of simplicity. It’s a late night seductress equally at home in the sunshine of a Sunday cruise, its a tune for a girls night out or a, erm, girls night in. Disco and chill I believe us older gen call it.

With the smooth as beats of her single Love Me Tonight and her ever-gorgeous Together We Are Beautiful, Fern’s divine disco output has kept this Wildblood wiggling when days are dark and the disco seems far away. She is one of many disco divas who kept me sane, a diva I shall always worship, thanks to a groove that has kept me on the queer and glittering this past 30 years. Thank you Fern.
