11BTN radio for us has always been about the joy of collaboration, of community, there to support, encourage and cherish. Since our first show back April 2015, 1BTN has been the home we never knew we needed and the the family we can’t now do without. Thanks to Jayne Winstanley, Kerry Jean Lister, Hannah Sherlock, Kathy Eliis, Clara Suess, and the incredible Suze Rosser for making it so fiercely so. Since that first collaborative effort in 2015 to celebrate the female, trans and non-binary talent on 1BTN, the annual IWD 1BTN Takeover has grown into quite the gem, highlighting our increasingly diverse line-up and the talent we have on our airwaves. A much-needed balance to the far too many male-dominated line-ups and schedules on our dancefloors, festivals and broadcasts, 1BTN’S IWD Takeover is one of the thousands of events happening across the UK on 8th March 2025 celebrating women, trans and non-binary artists, DJs, presenters, performers and creators in dance music, lighting the way, by inspiring, campaigning, fundraising and, let’s face it, kicking arse. Always challenging that seemingly still entertained thought that there are still no decent women, trans or non-binary artists working in dance music available for promoters, IWD 25 is yet another reminder to do the right thing. Reflect your dancefloors, and represent your listeners. Book us, support us, pay us, respect us, we exist. Not for just one day of the year. But day after day, year after year. Collaborating, celebrating, and creating magic on our airwaves, dancefloors and studios. Together as one. Together on 1BTN.
