As we bid farewell to another summer, it seems only right that we should celebrate its glorious days with a dance. A dance of the queerest kind as we join our Sunday Almanac family to make merry once more. Expect nothing but never-guilty pleasures as we raid my late mum’s record box for a Sunday session to make her proud. Yeah, the time feels right to celebrate the tunes that made us, the soundtrack to those Seventies hot summers, as the radio blasted out the rays of summer love. Disco, soul, funk, reggae, divas and daaaaarlings. All served up with a string of pearls and two souls that need the hug from our queerest of favourite dancefloors. This one is for all our mums and dads, for every original childhood influencer who influenced us and brought the spark to our young lives – polyester aside. We can’t wait to dance with you one last time this summer. See you at the front.
