Wildblood and Queenie’s Gscene December Delights

Drowning in a sea of tinsel fuelled Christmas music? Fret not we here to bring some proper Christmas cheer in the form of some mighty fine house music.

Ensuring all that sparkles this month is the ever-delivering House Of Disco whose weekly inbox ventures is appreciated by those in the know. Check out thehouseofdisco.com for some right gems including their latest EP ‘Night Light’. Never has so many dance moves been owed to so many good grooves. If you fancy a quirky cool Christmas head in the direction of Ruede Hagelstein & The Noblettes’ ‘Soft Pack’ on Souvenir and be charmed with pensive atmospherics, freaky deaky downtempo beats and adorable vocals. Also charming the pants off us this December is ‘Back On Track’ courtesy of Nicholas: Nu Groove on Needwant. Never has four to the floor oozed such sophistication.

Fabric is a byword for quality, confirming their knack of releasing the right sounds at the right time. Brodinski ‘FabricLive 60’ is house, techno, r’n’b and slow chugging dubstep and as blinding as the low sun on an autumn day. One word. Wow. Whilst ‘Fabric61: Visionquest’ is a mystical journey into all things electronic that will blow your mind over and over with its Detroit driven beats. Nice.

As for our festive must-hears this month we’re heading MK’s way and ‘Defected Presents House Masters MK’. Anthem after anthem of the true house kind, this collection of all things MK has us impressed, hands in the air style. December sees Fierce Angel return and continue with the good stuff courtesy of ‘Deeply Fierce’. Mark Doyle we salute you. Finally grab yourself some of the techno and house grooves produced, remixed or edited by Jesse Rose on ‘Made For The Night’ on Made To Play Records. Diverse, essential and a real eye opener on the possibilities of the genre we call dance music ‘Made For The Night’ is simply made to be heard. Make sure you do. Enjoy and don’t get caught kissing Santa Claus.
