The rainforests are the lungs of our planet. Without them, there is no future. Without them, we have no hope of halting climate catastrophe. Our planet will suffocate. Its that simple. Unfortunately the solution to the deforestation and murder of our rainforests by corporations greedy for land and profit, regardless of the cost to our world, is not simple.
But as we watched the latest burning horror to decimate our rainforests in the Amazon we needed hope. Hope that work of organisations such as the Rainforest Alliance could stop the burn, educate the destroyers and change the view so many governments take. To replace destruction with care, to begin to heal the planets lungs and the lives of those so dependant on them.
Decent at The Tempest is the first in a series of fundraising parties from two old ladies who’ve continue to want to give something back. Fundraising parties attempting to make a difference locally, nationally and internationally. This September there was only one cause we could support. One cause we hoped would make a difference. So please whether you come disco with us or not on Friday 20th, take the time to make a donation. Decent is about the decent DJs and the decent disco but most importantly it is about the decent cause. And we can’t think of a more important cause than that of the lungs of our planet. The beautiful lungs we need to cherish and repair if our planet is to have a chance of surviving.
