Brighton & Hove’s Fabuloso Pride

The goosebumps are real, the grin never-ending, the anticipation beyond exciting. Yes, our favourite Pride event of the year is back. Brighton Pride has just announced the theme and dates for Pride 2020 and its Fabuloso darling! Literally. Talk about bona. My eek is a filled with joy, my lills in the air, my soul hoofing as Brighton Pride reflects upon the communities that created the Pride movement and embraces the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, and queer wonders that make it what it is today.

Yes, it’s time to celebrate Pride with Brighton’s LGBTQ+ community, supporters and allies once more as we unite to challenge bigotry, celebrate difference and fundraise. A Pride we can all be proud as it continues its amazing fundraising record, a stunning £920,000 and counting for neighbouring charities, projects and community groups through The Rainbow Fund, Pride Social Impact Fund and The Pride Cultural Development Fund, making a vital difference to lives in our city. A Pride with its forever inclusive ethos illustrated so brilliantly by the 2020 Fabuloso artwork by local Trans activist and artist Fox Fisher. A Pride with, as always, the cheekiest of saucy seaside grins, as it effortlessly combines campaigning with its uniquely Brighton celebrations.

Add the legendary Pride Village Party, the must-see 30 Years of Queer exhibition and the wagging wonder that is the Pride Dog Show and you have a fantabulosa 2020 Pride event you’ll need to varda to believe.

But then when Pride in Brighton has been challenging, changing and charming the city for 30 years we were always in for a very special anniversary celebration. A celebration for our every one of our diverse LGBTQ+ family and allies. A celebration ensuring visibility and acceptance for all.
