Let’s go back to the beach. It’s 2012 and Brighton is rocking to AJ’s baby. The beachside party everyone wanted to be part of – where resident DJs Chris Barker a.k.a. Mister Barker a.k.a. Diablo, Jon Byrne and a certain regal one called Queenie ruled the disco roost. Add guest DJs including House of Go Bang, Hifi Sean, Paul Heron, Paul Coals, Zach Burns, Lee Harris, Dulcie Danger, King K, Maze & Masters, Dave Kendrick, Pier Morrocco and Dave Ethics and no dancefloor sounded fiercer. Because nobody did it better, no one had bigger disco balls, nobody had our Lulu and nobody moved quite like a DSD dancefloor moved. Missed, cherished and forever in our hearts, DSD was our playground, our church, our village hall. (Disco biscuits optional). Community, proper house music and dirty grins. Just how we liked it. With added kiki.
Grab Queenie’s 2012 DSD mix streaming on Mixcloud today – it’s time travel without the annoying monsters. Enjoy.
