The most fun we’ve had under canvas since that dubious holiday in a lesbian’s caravan park in Cornwall back in 1994 (more on that another day), letting the disco do its divine thing at We Are Love for the Chill Out Tent crew was a pleasure we’ll always treasure. Bringing the queer vibes and the camp disco (at one point Queenie did ask if maybe it wasn’t quite gay enough, we had the finest of dances with you. A real coming together of loved-up Saturday night souls, with homemade veggie curry the tasteful backdrop and herbal tea with honey the lubricant. As I jumped and jumped around in The Chill Out Tent playground of the DJ who inspired me to take deck life seriously the grin was as wide as the comfy shoes my older dancing feet need nowadays. It was a tribal moment for two old queer dears with disco intent, a nod to the house music that made us and the friendships we’ve forged over the years. It was a celebration of our disco family, new and old, as the Outfit of the Day became our contender for set of the year. Thank you to everyone who made it so.
You can now listen to what all the fuss was about, enjoy the wallops and the whoops and tell me (and Jackie Moore) why it doesn’t get any better than this. Till next time.
