Camp Kindred did exactly what it said on the tin. And then some. A queertopia Queenie and I wish had existed when we were young, it gave us faith in our queer community again. It gave us hope, it gave us good face. It was an incredible celebration of queer love, acceptance and good times. Created by a community so often maligned and misunderstood, it stomped home in lesbian boots the only truth you need to know about our queer future. It is driven by love. Community, passion and love, so much ****ing love. And Queenie and I were so honoured to play a small role in a weekend of celebrating, connecting, creating, and, er, courgettes. Homegrown, of course. Just like the beauties who created Camp Kindred. We salute you Alex, Daz, Ashleigh, Odd Fabrication, Mother Misha, Lebby, Sauna Stanmer, Vaquero, Dyke Night, the exquisite Elementals (we are sooooo only DJIng at queer pageants from now on!)and every glorious soul volunteering, cooking, cleaning, chanting, clapping and camping it up with our beautiful Camp Kindred. You made our outfit of the day, you made our year.
