BMC26 – Disco:Origins

if you can see it, you can be it. Okay, I may not have become a disco legend capable of creating the most epic moments of queer disco joy, glorious costume changes and rollerblading sass, but thanks to seeing Sylvester and Two Tons Of Fun on my TV as a kid, I grew up knowing there was a place for a queer like me. That disco would be the soundtrack to that joy and its rebellious roots, queer icons and the home it found in LGBTQ+ nightlife would see it change my dancefloor destiny.

Disco is more than a genre to me, it’s a connection to my queer heritage I feel every day. A connection I’m excited to share at the Brighton Music Conference Origins: Disco panel Thursday 21st May 12:00 at Horizon.

See you at the front. Like Irvine WelshJemma BoltThe Shapeshifters and Jules Cameron I’ve got some disco heat to share.
