Queering Up BMC

Bringing the queer to BMC this year, it is our immense pleasure to be hosting the LGBTQ+ nightlife panel this year. Sharing knowledge, connecting with each other, creating community. Just like it should be. From the queer dancefloors that made us to the reality of working within the industry as LGBTQ+ promoters, DJs and creatives,  this year’s LGBTQ+ contribution to BMC hopes to bring the light and love and a queer reality check to the discussion. A discussion determined to ask just how putting our LGBTQ+  community first and celebrating their brilliance when working in nightlife can help us mitigate the commercial pressures of the clubland, and what, if anything, can we queer dears teach the broader nightlife industry about creating community connections that stand these testing times.

Connecting communities we admire has been the easy bit, as some of queer clubland’s finest agreed to be part of this new addition to BMC. From the energy and deviance of Dykes On Decks promoters and DJs Lebby Leb and Alex Berry, to the promotion powerhouse that is Gal Pals and Lezzerfest’s DJs Xandice Armah and Scarlett Langdonvia the trailblazing honesty and talent of Unorthodox DJ, producer and radio presenter Nathan X, we hope to answer the questions that come from creating some of the LGBTQ+ night club scene finest parties, DJs and producers.

Hosted by us, Wildblood and Queenie, two elder queer disco dears who, after three decades sharing the DJ booth together, continue to believe the dancefloor is where you will build your chosen family.  Especially it the soundtrack is disco.
