At some point during the Friday of We Are Love this weekend Queenie and I did a live radio show – every tune had the word love in the title – Love is the Message after all and was dedicated to Hannah Sherlock, Mickey Jukes, Ben GC, Matthew Davids and the incredible 1BTN family. It lasted all of 90 mins then we got too, too … Continue reading Wildblood and Queenie Show live from We Are Love
There has been a lot of talk in my head lately about the r-word. Retirement. Hanging up the headphones, saying farewell to the overload that can be life around the decks. Then We Are Love happened. Love is the Message happened. Saturday night in the woods happened. The r-word became reset. The doubt dismissed. The love for that thing I do with tunes standing beside … Continue reading We Are Love we love you
The thing they don’t tell you about DJing is it’s where love lives. You think it is all about the first 12” you obsess over, the divine disco you can’t stop collecting, the cowbell that follows you into your dreams, the house bassline that shakes you to your dancing core. You think it’s about your name on flyers, the resident brackets you fought so hard … Continue reading We Are Love Festival 2023

The Wildblood and Queenie Show on 1BTN. 2nd & 4th Friday of every month. 101.4FM DAB+ 1btn.fm Continue reading Listen again: 1BTN 230623

It is Sunday Sundae and it’s been my queer mothership for nearly two decades now. A space where we can be ourselves, our glorious dancing, glittering, smiling, Speedo-clad selves. (Okay, maybe not the last one. … Continue reading Sunday Sundae Pride Reunion 2023

So here we go, suitcase not at the door – heading to the 1BTN bunker to remember the good times and the tunes that have soundtracking our gyrating hips this early summer. It’s not the perfect radio but we’ll defend it. Because we believe that’s what Mickey intended (when he asked us to join the 1BTN family). Loads of great music for you on the … Continue reading The Wildblood and Queenie 1BTN Show 090623
