Department of Records Ibiza 2010

Ibiza was easy to soundtrack. It always is. Especially when everyone on the island is a bloody DJ. The baggage carousel resembled an advert of UDG and heads were easy targets as CD wallets and headphones took out trolley dollies throughout our flight. Still if you play in Ibiza, be it a superclub or a supperclub, pool party or portaloo, you can add those all important brackets on the flyer for your next booking. (Ibiza) indeed.

But away from the predictable every day house of the portside bars there was some sweet grooves to be had. Ibiza’s airwaves are truly unique with Sonica 95.2 FM fueling our post sunset moments with progressive gems and deeply dishy house.

So there’s no tracklisting this time. Just a vibe. Yes Ferrer’s ‘Hey Hey’ was everywhere – whistled in cafes and thumping in traffic jams. Guetta branded the island but for me it was the likes of Ben Watt, Ralph Lawson, We Love, Chris Coco and the DeeJay Ibiza Residents that tweeked my tanned body. Like they do. Like they did. Like I like it.
