It’s the month of love ladies and gentlemen, and Queenie’s been catching up with the gorgeous Lee Jeffrey who’s sure to have you spinning your beloved across the dancefloor. You may even find yourselves singing along……
Where can we see you playing these days? You can find me every Thursday and Friday on the decks at Charles Street Bar. Thursday’s is the legendary night ‘Mad Cow’. Ruby-Roo and I play all the tunes you love, anything from chart and dance to R&B and garage. All hosted by award winning Joan Bond. This night truly lives up to its name! Friday’s in the bar is ‘Fruity Friday Fix’ – Commercial floor fillers, house classics and big bass lines to keep you dancing till the early hours. (A great party to get the weekend started.)
How would you describe your djing style? I’m quite adaptable to many styles and read what the crowd is up for. But you’ll generally hear me play a big vocal house set.
What’s your favourite song of all time? Tough question… Work by The 2 bears. It’s not really that old, but it’s one of those songs I instantly fell in love with and play over and over. I wouldn’t say favourite of all time, but it’s defiantly up there.
Which tune always fills up (or rescues) your dancefloor? Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars Uptown Funk. Everyone goes absolutely nuts for this song! The entire venue instantly becomes electric; it’s SO funny to watch and always brings a smile to my face.
What would be your ultimate dream gig? I’d quite like to DJ on a boat, in the sun for someone really famous like Beyoncé. I’d have to wear armbands and have a bucket on stand by, as I get ridiculously seasick!
Name a tune you wish you’d never played? Frozen Let It Go (Any remix). Why? I’m a resident in a gay venue… this track is like Red Bull in song. EVERYONE comes to life trying singing above the track. I’m surprised I haven’t blown the amps playing it yet.
Guilty pleasure? Anastasia, Mis-teeq and Aqua. No comment.
What’s been your best ever gig? The Pride Village Street Party was pretty epic last year! I had the headline slot on Saturday night. I can’t even describe the feeling playing to that many people. But nothing beats New Years Eve at Charles Street, always a highlight!
Tell us a secret! I went to see One Direction in concert last year… it was awesome! We where so close to the front I thought I was going to pass out with excitement. The screaming teenage girls had nothing on me.
