50 years is such a short amount of time for us to come as far as we have today. And yet for the many gay men represented and interviewed in the moving BBC drama Against The Law it must of felt like an endless battle. A lifetime of bravery against fear, activism against unjust laws and hope against hatred. A lifetime of struggle that made my life today free from persecution and almost free from prejudice. Thank you to each and every soul who walked and marched and minced and stomped before me so I could walk the streets I call home with Pride. As we commemorate the beginning of our 50 year battle for equality watch these stories, remember these men and never ever, ever forget how we got where we are today. And how much further we still need to go.
