Welcome to this year’s International Women’s day takeover of IBTN on Wednesday 8th March. Now in our 5th year, we will be broadcasting for 25 hours with shows from our fabulous female and non-binary presenters with a genre-spanning selection of incredible music, sung, written, produced and remixed by women. Expect Afro beat, ambient, Balearic, breaks, cosmic, dancehall, disco, dub, electro, funk, garage, grime, hip hop, house, indie, italo, jazz, jungle, Latino, new wave, pop, rare groove, R’n’B, reggae, ska, soul, synth, techno and anything else that feels right on the night! As we celebrate and honour the women who have rocked our world with the power of their music.
Once again, the 1BTN International Women’s Day Takeover will fund Sussex-based charity RISE. RISE stands for Refuge, Information, Support and Education and RISE have worked since 1994 to end all forms of violence and abuse against women, their families and those identifying as LGBTQ+.
