Wildblood and Queenies Summer Wonder Vol.1: The deep queer tech house one

There’s something beautiful about the simple grooves of tech house we can’t stay away from. Electronica of the sublime kind, it grabs you where it should do come 7am. Loops and bleeps and beats. Just how we like it. After several weeks of clubbing on the other side of the tracks and enjoying the sublime beats of Maxxi Soundsystem’s Sam Watts, the delights of Go … Continue reading Wildblood and Queenies Summer Wonder Vol.1: The deep queer tech house one

This Friday and Queenie and I will be filling our boots with tunes (not the carboot with wellies!) and heading to Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent for GOGO Festival. A weekend like no other awaits us as we get to play the tunes we love to lots of hot ladies. (And this is my day job?) We’re dead les-chuffed to have been invited and with a … Continue reading GOGO Festival June 17-20th – DJing with The Freemasons, Lady Bex, Sandra D and Lil Jo

Tensnake bites back with ‘Something About You’

Some tunes just can’t be stopped. Tensnake ‘Something About You’ is one such tune. A favourite of mine from his brilliant RA 2009 podcast – its back and, like his limited edition vinyl Live +, its a corker of lovingly crafted genius. Hopefully it heralds a summer of back to the new, old school / nu school house acid vibe as those annoying house tunes … Continue reading Tensnake bites back with ‘Something About You’

Where the people look good and the music is loud. Remembering Martin Rushent

I should be writing an essay. I’m nearly there – 3000 outta 5000 but I’m being distracted. Another soul departed, another genius gone and I’m beginning to worry. Is this what getting old is all about? The best shuffling off and you left hitting play to remember. Today it’s Martin Rushent who’s left us. Way too young, way too early and responsible for way too … Continue reading Where the people look good and the music is loud. Remembering Martin Rushent
